Citizens and dignitaries from across the Castle Country Area gathered together on Monday, Aug. 5 at the Pinnacle Nursing and Rehabilitation Center to celebrate the groundbreaking for a new wing that is expected to add 20 beds to the center, as well as increasing parking for those visiting.
Kirk Player, an administrator at the rehabilitation center spoke at the ceremony about the excitement he feels about the new wing,” I tell people all the time, we have the best team. We have the best leadership team, we have amazing community partners as we can see here today and we have the best patients and residents, but we don’t have the best building … And so that’s why this is so exciting, we are going to have a great building that we will be able to help the community with.”
Billy Ray from Water Oak Construction, the contracted company to build the wing, explained that the planned time frame for the construction was 12 months, allowing the new wing to open in 2025. But he explained that it could take up to 18 months depending on a variety of factors.
“I’m excited to be able to have a state-of-the-art world-class facility where we can help people get back up on their feet after they’ve had surgery or any sort of problems, and we can get them back and out to the community.” Explained Player,” It will be a huge benefit. It brings more beds so when there is an influx of people needing skilled nursing help, we will have more beds to be able to accommodate that. It will also help on the front, that we will have better facilities to aid in rehabilitation so that people can get back up on their feet even faster.”
