Janet Jackson Bergera, age 82, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2024.

She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ira Cullen and Ora Brown Redford Jackson on November 28, 1941.

Janet was part of the first graduating class of Highland High School in Salt Lake City. She attended the University of Utah and later graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Utah State University. During her college years she met fellow artist Clifford Bergera on a student trip to San Miguel, Mexico. They married on December 6, 1968. Clifford made her so happy with his gentle manner and nonchalant sense of humor. They enjoyed painting together and have left a legacy of beautiful works for loved ones to enjoy.

Their daughter Lisa was born on March 21, 1971. Janet enjoyed motherhood and made every moment special. She was a room mother, PTA and Primary president, fun friend, and life mentor. Chief among her artistic accomplishments was creating an amazing childhood for her daughter.

Janet taught art at Notre Dame School in Price, Helper Junior High School and Sally Mauro Elementary. She was generous and supportive to all, but especially loved children and had a magical ability to connect with them. She delighted in each of her grandchildren as they came along. She was a good friend and listener, and she thoroughly loved and appreciated her friends and family members. She was very grateful to her caregivers at Quail Ridge Assisted Living in Pocatello, Idaho.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Jorgensen (Nate); grandchildren, Collin (Regan), Madeline (Khalil), and Carter (Marin); great-grandchildren, Odin, Ivy, Clifford, and Maya; sisters-in-law, Anne Bergera, Elaine Jackson; and nephews and nieces, whom she adored.

Janet is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; parents; and brother, Brent Jackson.
