Another second Saturday means one thing, another thrilling rendition of Helper Saturday Vibes. This week is another themed event with Latin and Rio night, featuring live entertainment and vendors to fit that theme. Castle Country Radio sat down with Joelle Amaya from Helper Vibes and Joanna Manzanares from Little Learners of Price to talk about the event.

Opening us up, Manzanares explained what Little Learners is, as well as the role they play in Helper Vibes. “ We are a state-licensed child care facility. We operate Monday through Friday from roughly 3:30 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. We do after-school programs, early childhood development, preschool; you name it, we do it … Currently, we’re a sponsor for their Imagination Station where they give an activity for the kids to do.”

Speaking of the Imagination Station, this week’s activity is sure to be a hit with the young ones,” They’re going to make a maraca kind of shaker stick, and then also this cute little drum.” explained Manzanares.

To contact Little Learners, they can be reached by phone at 637-KIDS (5437) or by email at LittleLearnersCharities@gmail.com.

After this Amaya took the time to explain some of the other festivities at this week’s celebration,” We’ll have two bands coming down from Salt Lake. One of them, our opener, is going to be Latin Roots, and our closer is going to be Samba Fogo … We’re also going to do a fresh mango margarita courtesy of our Bar Manager Shayla Olson.”

The last rendition of Helper Vibes features a river float down the freshly revitalized Helper River, something which Amaya was thrilled to announce would be coming back,” we’re going to extend it through August since we’ll still be a little toasty for this month. And we just want to make sure everybody is safe. We do ask that they bring their own floating devices and safety equipment, and it is float at your own risk.”

One booth Amaya wanted to highlight was the Helper Vibes merchandise booth, which features signature designs from Kate Kilpatrick.” We have beanies and trucker hats and T-shirts, tank tops, sweatshirts, and then we have our usual stickers.”

“Come on out this weekend and show us your rhythm.” Said Amaya, closing out our interview.

Helper Saturday Vibes will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10 starting at 5 p.m. on Helper’s Historic Main Street. For more information you can visit the Vibes website here; the festival can also be found on Facebook.
