The Carbon Lady Dinos opened the 2024 soccer season with a dominating performance, topping the Millard Eagles 8-0 Thursday afternoon on the road.
Carbon found the back of the net four times in each of the two halves, rounding out a truly one-sided affair. While the team soared offensively, sophomore Madi Barlow sealed the shutout as she recorded three saves at goalie.
Malia Smith scored four goals to lead the Lady Dinos to the win. Junior Bailey Johnson also had an electric start to the season as she scored two goals on three shots, to go along with three assists. Chrissy Jones and Lydia Lancaster both scored one goal each.
The 8-0 final matched the score of last year’s early season tilt between the two schools.
Carbon will prepare for the first two-game week of the season, beginning Tuesday with the home opener against Union. Thursday the team will travel to Mount Pleasant to square off with the North Sanpete Hawks in the Region 12 opener.
