On the afternoon of Sunday, Aug. 18, two semi-trucks on Highway Six were involved in a crash that resulted in both directions of traffic being closed, as well as one hospitalization.

The crash occurred in Spanish Fork Canyon near the Thistle Turnoff. As a result of the crash, 6,000 pounds of fuel were spilled across the highway according to the Utah Highway Patrol. Because of this, hazmat crews have been called in to clean the spill.

Traffic in both directions was stopped due to cleanup efforts and rerouted to U.S. 89.

At the time of writing, the crash is still under early investigation. The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries from the accident, The crash is still under investigation from the UHP, with the cause of the accident not yet being revealed.
