Lady Dino volleyball got back to work on Monday night in Roosevelt when they faced the Union Cougars. Carbon pushed the Cougars to four sets but fell 3-1 to start the season at 0-1.
Carbon ended last season 21-8 overall and finished in third place in Region 12 with a 9-5 mark, ending the season with the No. 3 spot in the final RPI. The Lady Dinos made it to the quarterfinals where they were handed their first loss in the tournament by the same Union Cougars, finishing their season with a fifth-place finish in the fifth/seventh-place match over Delta.
On Monday Union came out taking set number one 25-20 and then earned a win in the second 25-15.
Facing elimination in the third set, Carbon came out firing taking a 25-19 win, but that was the only set win the Lady Dinos would record as the Cougars closed out the match with a 25-18 win in the fourth set.
The Lady Dinos will head back to the court on Wednesday when they welcome Draper APA.
