It is with great sadness that the children and life partner of Vicki Lynn Nash announce her passing on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the age of 67. Vicki was born on February 7, 1957, in Fresno, California to James Frank and Thelma June Petrie.
Vicki later moved to Fair Oaks, California with her mother where she met Larry Dean Nash. The two were married on February 8, 1975. They raised four children together, and later divorced. In October of 1990, the family relocated from Sacramento, California to East Carbon, Utah. Vicki stayed in Carbon County for the remainder of her years.
Vicki spent her time as a stay-at-home mother. She could often be found with her four kids in tow, driving her prized station wagon and “car dancing” down the road. She enjoyed crafts and loved painting ceramics, trying new crafting techniques and starting new projects. She was famous for making a mess in the kitchen. The exploding yams disaster on Thanksgiving will always be a favorite family story. Later, when the kids were grown, she found passion as a chef.
In 1998, she became a grandmother for the first time, and she was the best Grandma. She loved her grandkids fiercely. In spring of 2000, she met the love of her life, Jefferson Wade. Early in their relationship the two enjoyed taking trips and traveling together, they took a boat up to Hoover Dam, visited National Parks, and genuinely loved exploring Huntington Canyon. The two loved every moment spent together for 24 years.
She is survived by Jefferson Wade and her four children, Alfred (Chelsea) Nash, Katie White Bull, Sandra Nash, and Larry J. Nash; her loving grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Anastasia, Rummie, Jaycee, Taylor, Klovi, and Jacob; nieces and nephews, Tonya McClymonds, Kenneth Spears, Carol Thompson Bailey, and Sharon Spears; and her lifelong friend, Stacy Stanfill.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and her younger brother, Joseph Mayer.
