The Pinnacle girl’s volleyball squad hit the court in Dugway to start the season on Tuesday. The Lady Panthers came out firing taking wins in the first two sets, and after dropping the third, claimed a win in the fourth set to take the 3-1 win to open the season.

Last year the LadyPanthers finished 8-17 overall and 1-7 in Region 19 in the 1A class, earning the No. 16 spot in the final RPI of the season. Pinnacle lost in the opening round to Bryce Valley.

Putting last season behind them they took on the Dugway Mustangs and quickly taking advantage on the Mustangs homecourt earning wins in the first set 25-21 and the second 25-19. In the third set, the Mustangs took charge winning 25-23, after that the Lady Panthers weren’t taking anything else for granted finishing off Dugway 25-12.

Heather Kerr for the Lady Panthers earned seven kills, seven total blocks, four service aces, and four digs. Xylee Perry had five assists, a pair of kills, and one service ace. Myleigh Petersen collected three service aces and two total blocks in the Pinnacle win.

Next up will be another road game on Thursday when they travel to Eagle Mountain to face Rockwell.

Pinnacle will have its home opener on Thursday, August 29 when they welcome Monticello to the gym
