Flavous Clyde Bingham, Sr. passed away on August 25, 2024 at the age of 74. Born on October 18, 1949; Clyde lived a life rich in love, community, and faith.
Clyde is survived by his beloved wife, Christy Bingham; his children, Clyde Jr. (Leighann) Bingham, Anna (Kurt) Brower, and Chad Bingham; his grandchildren, Josie (Clayton) Cook, Paisley (Trevor) Byrge, Misty (Taylor) Manzanares, Kaitlyn Phillips, Shane Johansen, Jaxson Shade, and Jordon Brower; and his great-grandson, Marik Manzanares. He is also cherished by several adopted grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Andrew Johansen. Each of his surviving family members carries with them the lessons of generosity, loyalty, and hard work that he instilled in them.
A pillar of the community, Clyde was known for his deep involvement in the Boy Scouts of America program, where he led by example and became a mentor to many. His presence was a source of strength and guidance, particularly to the widows in the community, whom he made sure were well cared for. If something needed fixing, Clyde was the one to call—he would either fix it himself or find someone who could, never resting until the job was done.
Clyde had a profound love for the outdoors, where he found joy in hunting, horseback riding, and camping with family and friends. A dedicated farmer, he spent countless hours tending to the land, growing crops, and caring for animals. He was a true animal lover, nurturing orphaned squirrels and rabbits, and training dogs and horses. His life was a testament to his belief that all creatures, great and small, deserve kindness and care.
Above all, Clyde had a deep love for Jesus that guided him throughout his life. His faith was a cornerstone of his character, shaping his actions and inspiring those around him.
With a personality as large as his frame, Clyde was both imposing and deeply loved by all who knew him. He was known for his honor, drive, and toughness—qualities that earned him respect far and wide. A devoted hunter and farmer, Clyde cherished the time he spent in nature, where his skills and love for the land shone brightly. Yet, beneath that tough exterior was a man who was quick to help a stranger in need, always generous, and endlessly loyal. Though he might not have been the best at remembering names, everyone remembered his.
Clyde leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, faith, and authenticity. He was a true cowboy, a man who embodied the spirit of “pay it forward,” and someone who made a lasting impact on everyone he met. His name will be remembered by many, and his influence will be felt for generations to come.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Symbii Home Health and Hospice, the team at Intermountain Transplant Services, and Dr. Gilroy, along with his compassionate team, especially Danielle and Ryan, for the exceptional care and support they provided to our hero over the years.
