
Betty Lou Earney Anderson died August 27, 2024 in her home with her family by her side. She was 90.
She was born in Albia, Iowa on December 17, 1933 to Thomas Edward and Hazel Irene Beitel Earney. At the age of eight her father moved to Hiawatha, Utah for employment. She and the rest of the family came to Utah a little later.
Betty and DeLoy married in 1951. He was in the Navy, so they moved several times between California and Utah.
They worked side by side to build their house as well as help others with theirs. They loved creating things together. When all the kids were in school, Betty decided to go to beauty school to learn to do hair and earn extra money.
She loved sewing for her four daughters and family and friends. She also loved creating beautiful quilts and reading books.
Betty joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints right before they were married. She has been a faithful member and loved serving others in many capacities. She and DeLoy also served at the Manti Temple for five years and loved every minute of it.
She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Barney), Terry (Gene), Sherry (Kent); son-in-law Lomio Latu; sisters, Mary (Kay) Dunn, Dorothy (Ron) Rich and Roberta Eiden; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Hazel; husband, DeLoy; in-laws; daughter, JoAnne; two grandsons as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and grands.
Funeral service, Saturday, September 7, 2024, 2:00 p.m., Wellington 1st/4th Ward Building (47 North 100 East). The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Interment, Wellington City Cemetery.
