The Lady Spartan tennis team has been making its way through the season and is still looking for its first meet win. On Tuesday, they faced the Manti Templars in Castle Dale but were unable to earn a match victory, falling 5-0.

The first two singles matches were straight-set losses for Emery. In the third, there was some drama as Dorian Price pushed Manti’s Nora Wood in set one 7-7 (7-5), and then Price came back in the second set to win 6-1. Wood closed out the match 6-2 in the third set.

In first doubles, Acelyn Migliori and Tailynn Minchey pushed the Templars’ Aliyah Brenchley and Shaylee Roberts to three sets with the Manti duo taking the first set 7-5, the Lady Spartans won set two 6-4. Brenchley and Roberts took set three 6-4.

Emery heads back to the court on Thursday when they travel to Cedar City to face the Canyon View Falcons.
