The Lady Spartans and the Lady Dinos soccer squads met on Tuesday for the first of two region meetings. Carbon jumped out quickly putting three goals on the board in the first half, and then came out in the second to add six more handing Emery the 9-1 loss.

The Lady Spartans have a 0-10 overall record and a 0-7 mark in Region 12 play, They sit in the No. 17 spot in the RPI. Carbon now sits at 7-2 overall and 5-2 in region play, sitting in the No. 5 spot in the RPI.

Carbon came out firing in the first half finding the back of the net three times. Emery had no answers in the second half as the Lady Dinos added six more goals and held the Lady Spartans to just one score, as Carbon took the 9-1 win in Castle Dale.

Bailey Johnson and Blythe Bradford each scored three goals for Carbon with Johnson adding one assist and Bradford a pair. Andrea Swasey scored one and Chrissy Jones and Malia Smith registered a goal and an assist in the Carbon win. Madi Barlow had eight saves between the pipes.

Carbon returns to the field on Thursday when they face North Sanpete (4-5 overall, 3-4 in the region, No. 8 in the RPI)  at home. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.

The Lady Spartans will head to Cedar City to face the Canyon View Falcons (8-2 overall, 7-2 in the region, No. 2 in the RPI).
