USU Eastern Athletics joined forces with United Way of Eastern Utah for the annual Day of Caring, an event designed to bring the community together through meaningful service. The event allowed people from all walks of life to give back by tackling various projects across Carbon County, including pulling weeds, tidying up yards, and painting. Several sports teams at Eastern participated in the service and made a big impact in areas of the community.
The day kicked off early in the morning in the parking lot of Lin’s, where volunteers were treated to donuts before heading off to their assigned tasks. Teams of volunteers were dispatched to different sites to complete their projects.
USU Eastern Athletics’ participation exemplified their commitment to the community. The Day of Caring is just one of the many ways United Way of Eastern Utah fosters connections and provides support.
For nearly 40 years, United Way of Eastern Utah has been a driving force for positive change in the region, partnering with local organizations to improve the well-being of families and individuals. Their efforts focus on helping families achieve financial stability, supporting student success, and building healthier communities.
The organization ensures that all donations go directly toward community services, such as training and supplies, rather than capital projects or administrative costs. Through events like the Day of Caring, the spirit of “Living United” shines, showcasing the strength of a community when people come together to support one another.
