Carbon girl’s volleyball was on the road on Thursday to face the No. 1 ranked Canyon View Falcons in Cedar City, and the Falcons lived up to their ranking closing out the Lady Dinos in straight sets 3-0.

The loss puts Carbon at 5-8 overall and 2-3 in Region 12 play landing them the No. 12 spot in the RPI. The eight losses matches their total from last season with ten matches remaining this season.

The first set was close as the Lady Dinos were able to keep the pace until the Falcons closed them out to take the 25-21 win. The second and third sets were all Canyon View with them taking the 25-17 and 25-16 wins to earn the 3-0 match win.

Carbon heads back to the court next week on Tuesday when they welcome the Manti Templars (3-7 overall, 2-3 in region and No. 13 in the RPI) to Price, the Lady Dinos fell in both meetings against the Templars last season. Then they will close out the week on Thursday when the Emery Spartans (8-4, 3-2, and No. 4 in the RPI) comes to town, last year Carbon and Emery split the season series 1-1 with each team winning on their home floor.

Both matches are set to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Carbon High Gym.
