The Lady Spartan soccer squad was on the road Thursday in Cedar City to take on the No. 3 Canyon View Falcons. The Falcons took over early and didn’t look back roughing up Emery 9-1.

With the latest loss, Emery falls to 0-11 overall and 0-8 in Region 12 play, they also sit in the No. 17 spot in the latest RPI. The rankings will be updated until the season’s final game on October 8. The final rankings determining the seeding for the 3A State Championship will be released on October 9 and the opening round will start three days later on the 12 of October.

Emery found the back of the net once in the first half, but Canyon View took charge and put eight goals on the board to take an 8-1 lead at halftime. In the second half, the Falcons added one more to their total to hand the Lady Spartans the 9-1 loss.

Soccer has entered the second half of their region schedule so Emery has faced all of the teams at least once. On Tuesday, they will take on the Delta Rabbits (4-8 overall, 2-6 in region play, and No. 12 in the RPI) on their home field. Earlier in the season, the Rabbits came to Castle Dale and left with a 6-1 victory. Thursday the Manti Templars (10-1, 7-1, and No. 2 in the RPI) will be in town, the pair met on August 22 with the Templars taking the 12-0 win.

The contest with the Templars is set to begin at 4:00 p.m..
