Thursday night was a battle on the floor of the Spartan Center as the Lady Spartans welcomed in the No. 2 team in 3A, the North Sanpete Hawks. This was a thriller in front of the home crowd, but after the dust settled, the Hawks walked away with the 3-2 win.

The Lady Spartans have an 8-4 overall mark and a 3-2 record in region play and they hold the No. 4 spot in the latest RPI. North Sanpete is now 11-3, 4-1 in the region, and sits in the No.2 spot.

The first set should have told everyone in attendance how the match was going to go as the Hawks topped Emery 30-28. Emery fought back in set two claiming the 25-21 win and tied it up at one set apiece.

Set three the Lady Spartans took a win 27-25 to earn the one-set lead. North Sanpete came back to take the 29-27 win and then took a 15-12 win to take the match 3-2.

Emery will welcome the No. 1 team in 3A to Castle Dale on Tuesday, the Canyon View Falcons. Canyon View sits at 16-2 overall and has yet to lose a contest in Region 12 with a perfect 5-0.
