Coming off a loss at the hands of Monticello on Tuesday, Green River played a rare Saturday match as the Monument Valley Cougars were in town. The Lady Pirates were outmatched against the No. 5 Cougars who beat them in straight sets, 3-0.

Green River falls to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in region with the loss. They now sit in the No.16 spot in the most recent RPI poll.

Monument Valley came out firing on all cylinders as they earned a win in set one 25-13. Green River fought back in the second set but came up just short 25-22. Set three went to the Cougars 25-8 as they also took the match win 3-0.

Green River will be off until Wednesday when they travel to Montezuma Creek to face the Whitehorse Raiders (3-1 overall, 2-1 in region play, No. 4 in the RPI.)
