In a tough matchup against the second-ranked Salt Lake Community College, USU Eastern men’s soccer was held scoreless, losing 2-0 in Taylorsville. The Eagles were unable to generate any shots on goal, while SLCC capitalized on their opportunities, scoring twice in the first half. Diego Ossa netted the opening goal at 30:02, assisted by Josh Conover, followed by an unassisted goal by Robert Franke at 40:15.
Utah State Eastern’s goalkeeper, Thiago Moreira, faced nine shots, making seven saves throughout the match to keep the Eagles within reach. Despite a strong defensive effort, the Eagles couldn’t break through SLCC’s defense.
USU Eastern (1-4-1) will return home for the next four contests as they first welcome Pacific Northwest Community College (0-3, 0-3) on September 19 at 3:30 p.m.
