On Monday, Sept. 16, business owners, dignitaries and employees gathered on the campus of Utah State University Eastern for the Eastern Utah Economic Summit. As is tradition at the summit, the award for Business of the Year was presented, this year the prestigious honor went to Richard and Wilma Snow, owners of Roosevelt Theaters.
Roosevelt Theaters consists of three movie theaters, the Roosevelt Twin Theatre, the Uinta Theatre and the Echo Drive-In, all owned and operated by the Snows.
Presenting the award was Rep. John Curtis, who spoke highly of the Snows. “It is no stretch to say that thousands of teenagers throughout Duchesne County got their first job after being hired by the Snows, to work at the theater or drive-in. One employee, who started as a teen, is still working there decades later with a few years off to have her children.”
Curtis continued,” Another margin of the Snow’s excellence is their generosity. It isn’t unusual to see Wilma hand out free popcorn and candy to youngsters she sees, obviously without money, staring into the snack bar window … The Snows are an important staple of the Roosevelt Community.”
Following the words from Curtis, the Snows were presented with an American flag which flew over the U.S. Capitol as a testament to their hard work and love for their community.
