Raymond Paul Coleman started out his life March 15th 1943 in Price, Utah.
The son of Bud and Agnes Colby Coleman, he spent the first few years of his life in Wellington with his mom and grandparents, during WW2 until the war ended and his dad got home from overseas. He passed away on September 15, 2024 at his home in Price surrounded by his family.
He loved the outdoors from a young age, didn’t matter if it was hunting, fishing, or just out camping.
One of his favorite fishing spots was Lake Powell.
He would take off work for the deer hunt and try to get his buck first thing opening morning, then come home, hang it in his meat shop cooler, then pack up and head to Lake Powell to fish the rest of the week.
Ray spent many years working for UPL, he started up at Castle Gate plant and then moved to Huntington plant when it was finished.
That is what he did to raise his family, but that is not what defined him. Ray was truly a family first man, who truly loved his family, and his friends. If you were a friend, you were family. That really showed at the family reunions that he was in charge of putting on every year. Until the last few, when his health and vision wouldn’t allow him to.
He really enjoyed the PBR. He kept track of all the riders and their standings. He wanted nothing more than to go to live events, but his vision wouldn’t let him see the chutes from the stands. So, I am sure he will have a front row seat now.
Ray was preceded in passing over, by his wife LaRonda “Ronnie” Huff Coleman, who he married right after high school, and stayed together the rest of their lives. Also, his daughter’s, Carrie, and Kelley; parents, Bud and Agnes Coleman; brother, Ted Coleman; sister, Toni Rivera; many aunts and uncles. Along with many close friends, Jim Horvath, and Ivan Fidel, was two of his partners in crime. They truly enjoyed each other’s company, hunting, fishing, or just stuck in the mud somewhere.
He is survived by his daughter, Paula Coleman Jones, and her husband Matt; along with, 6 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. He loves them all, they really were the center of his world. Also, his brother Stan and Yvette Coleman. Who is Bud and Agnes Colemans last Mohegan.
He was loved by everyone who knew him. You would never hear a bad word from anybody towards him. Well except his brothers and sisters sometimes, but you know how that goes, him being the oldest, he was always right.
One thing is certain heaven gained a wonderful soul, and if they need anything fixed or just great advice, they have the guy who can help with that. Till we see you again, God’s speed. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his dear friends Bob Byrge and Clark Thayn.
