The Emery girl’s tennis team traveled to Nephi to face the Juab Wasps in one of their final matches of the season. Juab came out on top to take a 5-1 win.

The season comes to a close on September 25, and the first round of the State Championships begins on October 3.

The singles matches for the Lady Spartans were all losses, as Julia Peterson, Tatum Jensen, and Dorian Price lost their matches in straight sets.

In the first doubles match Acelyn Migiliori and Tailynn Minchey lost to Juab’s Lily Echols and Magenta McDonald was probably the match of the day with the Wasps’ duo winning the first set 6-1 but Emery’s pair would come back to take set two 6-3, the third and final set was a barn burner with Juab taking the 7-6 (7-5) win.

Emery won the second doubles match when Izzi Turner and Lily Sorensen defeated the Juab team of Lucy Beutler and Cate Ludlow 6-1 and 7-5. Emery dropped the third doubles match 6-1 and 6-4.
