
Carbon cross country welcomed schools from around the area for the Carbon Invitational. The Dinos earned the top finish on both sides with 13 teams in the boys’ division and 11 in the girls’ division.
This is the first of two meets that Carbon will host. On October 9, the Region 12 Championships will also take place at the Carbon Country Club Golf Course.
Carbon grabbed the top spot for the boy’s division followed by Uintah, Manti, Richfield, and Tooele made up the remainder of the top five.
Carbon’s Spencer Butler lead the way for the Dinos finishing in fourth. Evan Criddle (8th), Michael Weber (11th), Matthew Stromness (13), and Bradley Sweeney (14) made up the top five finishers for Carbon. Dallin Humes and Tyler Morris also competed for the Dinos.
For the ladies, Carbon also finished in first followed by Emery. Grand, Richfield, and Uintah rounded out the top five.
Rozlyn Stowe, in her first meet of the season, led the Dinos with a second-place finish just fourteen seconds behind Emery’s Addy Guymon in first. Josie Yates (5), Aly Bryner (12), Brettlee Kennedy (16), and Kaylee Pitcher (21) made up the top five for the Lady Dinos. Alexa Jones and McKenzie Fredrickson also took part for Carbon.
Up next for cross country is a trip to Moab and the Moab Golf Course on September 25.
