
Coming off their first-place finishes at the Carbon Invitational last week, Carbon’s cross-country squad was in Moab to take part in the Red Rocks Invitational. The Dinos were able to claim second-place finishes in both divisions out of eight schools that participated.
For the girls, it was the team from Emery that claimed the top spot as Addy Guymon led the way for the Lady Spartans as she took first in the girl’s division. Carbon was right behind in second. Lehi, Grand County, and Monticello round out the top five.
Rozlyn Stowe, trying to work herself back into the swing of things coming off an injury finished in second place overall, and was the top finisher for Carbon. Josie Yates finished right behind her in third. Brettlee Kennedy (19), Aly Bryner (21), and Kaylee Pitcher (23) were the top finishers for Carbon. McKenzie Fredrickson, Alexa Jones, and Briella Hatch also took part for the Lady Dinos.
For the boy’s division, Lehi earned the top spot, with Carbon taking second. San Juan, Grand, and Emery rounded out the top five.
Spencer Butler was the top finisher for Carbon coming in fourth. Dallin Humes ended his day in 10th out of 135 runners. Michael Weber (11), Tyler Morris (15), and Matthew Stromness (17) made up the top five finishers for Carbon. Samuel Wilson, Seth Jenson, Spencer Pitcher, Bracken Hanson, Tyke Criddle, Jared Bryson, Carter Abbott, Josiah Trostle, Carter Jenson, Collin Bishop, Tanner Harker, MJ Rushton, Caden Holt, and Cole Arthur competed for Carbon as well.
Carbon won’t have to travel far for the next two outings. On October 2nd they will travel to Castle Dale for the Emery Invitational and then the next week on October 9th, the Region Championships will be held at the Carbon Country Club.
