
Emery cross-country traveled to Moab for the Red Rock Invitational hosted by Grand High School. Eight schools participated in the event with the Lady Spartans earning the first place finish and the boys ending the day in fifth.
For the girls, Emery claimed the top spot as Addy Guymon led the way for the Lady Spartans taking first in the girl’s division. Carbon was right behind in second. Lehi, Grand County, and Monticello round out the top five.
Guymon earned her second first-place finish in as many weeks, with Gentry Christiansen finishing in fourth. Addie Hurst (6), Alivia Daley (12), and Carlie Hurst (28) were the top finishers for Emery. Hadley Meccariello, Kallee Lake, and Hallie Frandsen also competed for the Lady Spartans.
For the boy’s division, Lehi earned the top spot, with Carbon taking second. San Juan, Grand, and Emery rounded out the top five.
Zander Robinson was the top finisher for Emery in 28th place. Hayden Christiansen (45), Jacob Erickson (49), Jamison Christiansen (52), and Daxton Larsen (53) made up the top five for the Spartans. Landon Braun, Benjamin Farley, Ty Christiansen, Hazen Meccariello, and Porter Stilson ran for Emery at the event also.
Emery won’t have to travel far for the next two outings. On October 2nd they will welcome to Castle Dale schools from around the region for the Emery Invitational and then the next week on October 9th, the Region Championships will be held at the Carbon Country Club.
