Lady Spartan volleyball was on the road in Richfield to face the No. 8 ranked Wildcats on Tuesday. Emery earned a win in the first set, and after that, Richfield went on the offensive and claimed the next three sets to win the match 3-1.

Emery slid to 9-6 overall and sits at 4-4 in Region 12 play, they also sit in the No.5 spot in the latest RPI. Emery has just eight contests left on the schedule before the regular season ends on October 22.

The Lady Spartans came out and took the first set, which was very competitive, 25-20, but Richfield would return to take set two by the score of 25-16. The Wildcats would get a win in the third set as well taking the 2-1 lead into what would become the fourth and final set.

Emery and Richfield went after it in the fourth set, as neither team was ready to let the match end but it was the Wildcats who were able to close out the Spartans 25-23 earning the 3-1 win.

The Lady Spartans will be back on the road on Thursday when they travel to Delta to take on the Rabbits (7-9 overall, 2-6 in the region, and No. 10 in the RPI). On August 29, the Rabbits came to the Spartan Center and earned a 3-2 win over Emery.
