
With the regular season coming to a close the Lady Spartans welcomed the Richfield Wildcats to Castle Dale for the final home game of the regular season. Richfield jumped out in the first half finding the back of the net five times, they would continue their run taking the 7-1 win over Emery.
The loss moves the Spartans to 0-16 overall and 0-13 in region play. They now sit at the No.18 spot in the RPI, which will be removed from view soon and will not be released again until after the end of the regular season on October 9, when the final rankings will be used to set the field for the State Championships that begin on October 12.
The Wildcats entered the contest looking for an early knockout blow and went to work putting five goals on the scoreboard, the Spartans were able to collect one goal but faced a 5-1 deficit at halftime.
The second half was more Wildcats as they were able to add two more goals and closed out the Lady Spartans 7-1.
The regular season will come to a close for Emery on Thursday when they travel to Price to face the Carbon Dinos (10-5, 8-5, and No. 4 in the RPI). Back in September, the Spartans faced the Dinos in Castle Dale falling 9-1.
The game is set to begin on the soccer field at Carbon High at 4:00 p.m..
