The Pinnacle Panthers will get back on the field on Friday as they begin play in the 1A State Championships. Wednesday the Utah High School Activities Association released their final RPI rankings and the Panthers landed in the No. 14 spot and they will face the Altamont Longhorns on the road.
Pinnacle closed out the regular season going 1-4 over the final five games with the win coming against Freedom Prep Academy 19-0.
The Panthers head back to the diamond on Friday when they will travel to Altamont to take on the Longhorns. Back on September 10, these two teams squared off with each other in Altamont with Pinnacle taking a 16-1 loss.
Altamont sits at 15-5 overall and 4-0 in region play holding the No. 3 and enters postseason play on a 10-game winning streak, they haven’t come up on the losing end of a contest since August 24 when they lost to No. 1 Panguitch.
The winner of this game will face the winner of the Valley and Maeser Prep contest in the next round that starts on Monday, October 7 at Snow Canyon High School in St. George Utah.
