Green River and Pinnacle met on the Pirates’ home floor Monday night for the first two meetings this season. In a match that went the distance, Green River earned the win in front of the home crowd 3-2.

Green River moves 2-8 overall with a 1-6 mark in the region. They also hold the No. 13 spot in the latest RPI. Pinnacle slides to 2-11, 0-6 in the region, and owns the No. 15 spot in the RPI.

The Lady Panthers came out to take a win in the first set 25-18, but Green River came right back taking set two 25-5. The Lady Pirates would again come out in the third earning a 25-12 win to go up 2-1.

Pinnacle fired back in set four with the 25-21 victory to tie things up at two sets apiece.

The fifth set could have been anybody’s, but Green River found a way to take a 15-12 win in the set and win the match 3-2.

Jostyn McLean had 15 digs for Pinnacle, Jazmyne Mullis collected a pair of kills, and Heather Kerr had a pair of blocks in the loss.

For the Lady Pirates, Mattie Meadows collected 11 assists. Jess Norman earned seven kills and had eight service aces. Rosa Barragan had eight digs in the win for Green River.

Pinnacle will face Utah Military Academy Camp Williams on Thursday at home, game time is set for 6:15.

The Lady Pirates will not get back on the court until Tuesday when they welcome in Dugway.
