It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Betty “June” Stevenson, age 96, of Dragerton, Utah who passed away on September 26, 2024. June was born on June 30, 1928 in Schulter, Oklahoma to Jesse and Elsie Sea McFarland.

June married the love of her life, Leon “Peewee” Stevenson on March 22, 1953. Leon preceded June in death on October 14, 1979.

June worked at Dragerton Department Store for 46 years where she was known and loved by not only the people she worked with, but all that she came in contact with. She was passionate about helping people and making lifelong friendships throughout her career.

A mother, aunt, friend, and “grandma to all who knew her,” June’s heart was full of joy when surrounded by her family. She had a passion for baking, crocheting, traveling, and dancing, and she never missed a chance to spend time with her loved ones. A constant presence in her community, she was known as the best neighbor and friend, always willing to lend a helping hand. She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, from playing bingo and visiting craft fairs to getting her hair and nails done.

In her free time, June enjoyed a cold Coke, baking cakes, cooking, reading, holidays, and decorating for the holidays, polka dancing, bowling, camping, crocheting, crosswords, a good beer, and a cup of black coffee while visiting with whoever stopped by. She loved spending time with her family and all her “adopted” grandkids she obtained throughout her life. She touched the hearts of many with her friendly and selfless nature. She was committed to helping the people in her community where she lived in the same house for 64 years. She loved being apart of Dragerton with all its rich history that she collected for over 70 years. She was the City of East Carbon’s 2009 Grand Marshall.

June is survived by her children, Rick Stevenson and Robyn Stevenson, as well as her cherished grandchildren: Dax, Jory, Brody, Jace, Alex, Chance, Amity, Skyler, and Jaquoie, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild who will carry her legacy of love and warmth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Elsie McFarland, her siblings, John McFarland, Floyd McFarland, and Mae Kinyon, her beloved son, Roger Stevenson, and her devoted husband, Leon Stevenson.

June will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her. Her loving spirit and kind heart will live on through the countless lives she touched.
