Spooky season is in full swing in the Castle Country Area, and along with that comes a variety of activities meant to scare and surprise its residents. One activity that will provide all fun and no fright will be Eastern Utah Community Credit Union’s seventh annual Pumpkin Festival on Friday, Oct. 11. To celebrate, Castle Country Radio sat down with Jacob Huntsman from EUCCU to discuss the event.

Opening our conversation, Huntsman dove into the nitty-gritty of the event,” First, we have a plethora of pumpkins that we’ll have, so just come in and you can purchase pumpkins. It’ll be $3 a pumpkin, or you can get two for $5.” Huntsman continued,” It’s just going to be at our Price office, it’ll be this Friday. It starts at 4 p.m. and goes until 6 p.m. It’s a great activity to have your kids come down to and have a good time.”

In addition to the pumpkin decoration, the event will also feature carnival games, photo opportunities and an opportunity drawing for a Nintendo Switch. “So when you come in, we’ll have little tickets there. Just come grab a ticket. And then at the end of the festival, we’re going to raffle off a Nintendo Switch. So it’s worth it to come and enjoy the festivities, get your pumpkin, have your kids have a good time, and then stay so you can get a chance to win the Switch.”

On top of the fun, this event will also give back to the community, with the proceeds going to Angel Tree, which will help benefit kids in need during the holiday season.

We continued to build on this theme of community involvement and support with Huntsman, asking him why it was important for the credit union to get out and involved with the area,” one of the greatest parts of my job is all these fun activities that we do. It’s fun to see the whole community come together and not worry about things that are going on in the world and just have a great time. An hour, two hours to just focus on having fun things with your community to build that friendship with your neighbors and build the community up.”

Eastern Utah Community Credit Union’s seventh annual pumpkin festival will be held on Friday, Oct. 11 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the credit union’s Price branch located at 675 East 100 North. For more information or to stay up to date with EUCCU, you can visit their Facebook page or website.
