Dear Jeanne,
You were born November 1,1946 to Pete and Ruth Ardohain of Carbon County, Price, Utah. A new born baby birthday gift to your mother. How unique it was to share the same birthday.
You then hurriedly passed away October 9, 2024, not too long after the passing of your life long soul mate and husband George Smith September 17, 2023.
Your parents were so proud yet worried how quickly you spread your wings and flew from Carbon County at the age of 18 to set the world on fire. You left the comfort and security of your childhood home.
Your license plate read GYPSY and that’s the way you and George lived your lives. Moving about California, Arizona, Maine and Utah to list a few. Maine was the favorite. You were talented and easily employable, it didn’t matter what state you lived in.
Your parents often worried about the lifestyle you chose but George always kept you safe and comfortable. They were always hesitant when you broke the news of a new career path you and George were about to embark on in another state or city. Their worry quickly turned into a new vacation destination……and oh how they enjoyed visiting and seeing new things outside of Carbon County.
You called your mom and dad on almost every Sunday yet seldom more because long distant calls were expensive. Before computers and email your main source of communication was USPS, thus the letter format written. Over the decades technology and styles changed but you didn’t. You were as young and recognizable as you were back in the 60’s.
You and George had an adventure of a life time. Enjoyed some of the finer things in life and forged fantastic friendships along the way. Some of the favorites were of the feline variety.
When the gypsy lifestyle came to a close and retirement approached, you and George moved into your old childhood home. What used to be long distant calls turned into daily visits with your mom while she was at the Heirloom. How happy she was to finally have you home.
Jeanne, your retirement was cut short by the early loss of your husband George and your willingness and want to be with him. Having one another was enough but to you and George that was everything.
With grieving hearts, we love and miss you. You left hundreds of pictures so there’s no chance to forget.
Mournfully,
Your Loving Family and Friends
