With Election Day right around the corner, there is still plenty of time for candidates to spread their platform and voters to come to decisions on who they want next in office. To aid in this process, Castle Country Radio has organized four opportunities for the public to come out and meet the candidates.
Kicking things off, on Oct. 14 we will feature Carbon County Assessor Candidates Republican Amy Schmidt-Peters and Democrat Robert Olson. This event will be held in the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center Alumni Room at Utah State University Eastern.
The next day on Oct. 15, we will feature Carbon County Commission Candidates Democrat David Palacios and Republican Jarred Haddock in the CIB Building Room 101 at USUE.
The following week, starting on Oct. 21, we will hear from House District 67 candidates Republican incumbent Christine Watkins and Democrat challenger Joe Christman in the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center Alumni Room at USUE.
Rounding out our events will be the candidates for State Senate District 26 on Oct. 22. This event will spotlight Republican incumbent David Hinkins, independent candidate Oran Stainbrook and Democrat Corbin Frost. Again, this will be held in the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center Alumni Room at USUE.
All of these events are free and open to the public and will start at 5 p.m. The events will also be streamed live on KOAL 107.3 FM and 750 AM and on our YouTube channel KOAL-Castle Country Focus. Questions for the candidates are still being accepted for all of these events. If you have a question for any of these races, you can email them to election2024@koal.net.
