
The Carbon cross-country team competed in the Divisionals at Lakeside Park in Orem on Tuesday, this is just a pre-cursor to the upcoming State Championships. Both the Carbon girl’s and boy’s squads finished in second place in their sections.
Grantsville finished in first followed by the Dinos in the boys division. Manti, Union, and Emery rounded out the top five. Judge Memorial, Juan Diego Catholic, and Delta made up the rest of the field.
For the Carbon boys, Spencer Butler finished in third overall and was the top finisher for the Dinos. Dallin Humes finished in sixth. Evan Criddle was in ninth, Bradley Sweeney 12, and Tyler Morris in 14, made up the Carbon top five. Michael Weber (16), and Samuel Wilson (18) competed for the Dinos as well.
Union earned the top spot for the girls, with Carbon taking second. Canyon View, Morgan, and Manti made up the top five. Summit Academy, Delta, and Providence Hall closed out the field.
Rozlyn Stowe, who finished in third overall earned the top finish for the Lady Dinos. Josie Yates crossed the finish line in fourth, and Aly Bryner took 10th. Brettlee Kennedy (19) and Kaylee Pitcher (20) made up the Carbon top five. Alexa Jones (29), and McKenzie Fredrickson (41) competed for the Lady Dinos also.
Up next for cross-country is the State Championships on October 29 at the Rose Park Sports Complex.
