
The Lady Dinos volleyball squad was on the road on Tuesday night to face the Templars on their home floor in Manti. The Templars stand at 7-17 overall with a 5-8 mark in region play. The two teams battled back-and-forth and when all was said and done Manti closed out the Lady Dions in five sets, 3-2.
Manti struck early in the opening set earning a quick 25-13 win, but the Lady Dinos would come firing back in the second taking a 25-17 win, to tie the match up at 1-1. The third set would turn out to be a battle as neither team wanted to give an inch, but the Templars took a 25-23 victory to get the 2-1 edge.
Facing elimination in the fourth set, Carbon turned up the intensity to take the 25-20 win sending it into a fifth final set.
The fifth was all Manti taking a 15-4 set win and closing out the match 3-2.
The loss moves Carbon to 8-18 overall and 3-13 in region play and they hold the No. 14 spot in the latest RPI.
The Lady Dinos won’t play again until Tuesday when they will welcome the Emery Lady Spartans to Price for the final contest of the regular season. Emery will enter the match with a 15-11 overall record and a 7-6 Region 12 mark, they also hold the No. 8 spot in the latest RPI.
The pair met in the Spartan Center on September 19, with Emery coming away the 3-1 winner.
