Saturday morning the Utah High School Activities Association released the final RPI for 2A football along with the bracket for the upcoming State Championships. Emery landed in the No. 2 spot with their 7-2 overall record and their 3-1 mark in region play.

San Juan earned the No. 1 seed with an 8-2 mark overall, followed by Emery. South Sevier landed in third at 5-5, Delta is at No.4, and South Summit rounds out the top five. Summit Academy, American Leadership Academy, Judge Memorial Catholic, Grand County, and Providence Hall make up the rest of the field.

With their No. 2 ranking, the Spartans will receive a first-round bye which means they won’t take to the field until next week. As of now, we know the game will take place in Castle Dale on Friday, November 1, however, we don’t know who the opponent will be.

The Spartans will play the winner of the No.7 American Leadership Academy and No. 10 Providence Hall matchup that takes place this Friday. Just two years ago Emery faced both of these squads and came away with wins against both.

When the time and opponent are known the game as always will be available on KOAL 107.3 FM and 750 AM as well as streaming audio that will be available on the Castle Country Radio app and at  castlecountryradio.com.
