Halloween has taken the Castle Country Area by storm, as seen by the plethora of houses decorated for the holiday and the wide variety of trunk-or-treat events being hosted for the children in our area. One of these events will be hosted by Four Corners Community Behavioral Health at the Castle Dale Rec Center. To discuss the event, Castle Country Radio sat down with Niki Allred from Four Corners to learn more.

Opening our conversation, Allred talked about what makes this event stand out compared to the countless others in the area. “I think ours stands out because there isn’t a lot in Emery County, and we’ve also got a lot of businesses to join us. We started with 12, and we’ve grown to 25, and so it is local businesses that want to give back to the community, and it’s our local mines and just businesses that serve Emery County.”

One concern every parent has when it comes to Halloween is the safety of their children. Luckily, Allred was able to explain some of the safety features present at the trunk or treat,” we have the local sheriff’s department that is joining us as well, and that just helps keep everyone safe. You can come down there and get lots of candy for your kids,” Allred continued,” It’s hard for them to go door to door sometimes, so it helps free up that time for those parents and make it a little easier on those kids and help keep everyone safe.”

Allred also discussed some of the reasons why Four Corners is out and hosting events like this,” it’s important to us because we don’t always get to interact with our clients that we serve in this way, where we can see them in a different light out in the community, and they can see us in a different light, and so we can interact with them differently and get to enjoy that time with them and their families.”

In closing, Allred shared one final thought,” I just want to tell everyone that we would love for you to come out and join us, and if there’s anyone out there who would like to join us in future years, please contact us. We would love to have more people join and keep making this a fun family event.”

The Four Corners Community Behavioral Health Trunk or Treat will be held on Thursday, Oct. 31 at the Castle Dale Rec Center located at 75 South, 400 East in Castle Dale. To stay up to date with what is coming up for Four Corners, you can visit their website or Facebook page.
