Erma Lynn Huntington, age 83, passed away on October 24, 2024 after living valiantly through the limitations of her life from a stroke for 13 years.
Lynn was born in Hiawatha, Utah on September 2, 1941 to Ermon Jewell and Ruby Eldora Wilson Rowley. She grew up in Huntington, Utah with five sisters and one brother where they helped around the home and farm in many ways. In her youth, she could do a back bend and pick up a glass of water with her teeth and drink it. Her dad was so impressed he would always ask her to do that for him. She loved dancing and ballet.
Lynn met the love of her life, Richard Huntington, and married in the Manti, Utah Temple. The first years of their life together were lived in Huntington. They moved with three children to Orangeville, Utah in 1967 where two more children were born. Together they share 65 years of marriage in this life and look forward to eternity together.
She loved camping and most any activity that involved her family. She is a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served faithfully in many capacities. Lynn ministered with love and compassion. She and her husband spent many years teaching dance to youth in their ward and stake as they prepared for Gold and Green Ball dances. Together with her husband, she served a mission to Columbia, South Carolina, making many new friends. She and Richard served together faithfully in the Manti Utah Temple.
Lynn’s first purpose in life was always her family. She was dedicated to her husband and children always putting their needs ahead of her own. She and Richard even used the early years of a custodian job at the church to involve and teach their children how to work. She has a firm testimony of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father’s plan and knows that temple covenants bind us in this life and through eternity.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Huntington; children, Becky (Blake) Gardner, Vince Huntington, Kurt (Carol) Huntington, Jason (Nikki) Huntington, Gavin (Brook) Huntington; 18 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ermon and Ruby Rowley; parents-in-law, Jesse and Louise Huntington; sister-in-law, Ann Kidd; and brothers-in-law, Manual Kidd and Morley Naylor.
