Joan Sheffield Crocco, 92, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024.

She was born in northern Virginia on December 16, 1932

Joan worked as a government clerk at the Department of Defense, where she met the love of her life, Frank Crocco. They married on December 13, 1975, and shared a joyful life. Joan treasured listening to her beloved Frank serenade her, affectionately calling him “Lovey-Dovey.”

An avid reader, Joan also found joy in baking, crocheting, and indulging in her favorite television show, Dancing with the Stars. She loved shopping on QVC, often treating herself and her many nieces and nephews, who will miss her dearly.

Joan was a woman of simple pleasures, whether it was a lucky streak while gambling or spending time with family and friends. Her thoughtfulness and generosity will be remembered by all who knew her.

Joan is survived by her sister-in-law, Janet Crocco Barbiero, and many nieces and nephews.

Joan’s memory will forever be a blessing to those who knew and loved her.

Funeral service Wednesday, October 30, 2024, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home, (233 East Main, Price) with a viewing one hour prior to service. Interment Price City Cemetery.
