
Erin S. Seely, loving husband for 47 years of Jackie (Sena) Seely, was born November 1, 1934 in Redmond, UT to Leslie and Ora Johnson Seely; he died October 28, 2024 at the Good Life Senior Living in Price.
After his first year of college, Erin enlisted in the US Air Force where he was a pilot and became a Captain. He was an air traffic controller in Salt Lake City for many years and trained other traffic controllers at the University of Oklahoma. After retirement, Erin did volunteer work for the Bureau of Reclamation, mapping dirt roads and trails throughout remote places in Southern Utah.
Erin was an amazing historian and reader who eagerly shared stories. He loved nature and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Erin married Rose Marie Sorensen on April 12, 1958 in Manti, Utah; they later divorced. On September 29, 1978, he married Jackie M. Sena in Elko, Nevada and together the couple has made their home in Helper for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie; son, Jamie (Wendy) Seely, Layton, UT; daughters, Julie Andrus, Salt Lake City, UT; and Karen (Pete) Hamilton, Farmington, UT; sisters-in-law, Julie (Jon Edward) Knott, Grand Junction, CO; and Sister Maria Sena, a Franciscan Sister of the Eucharist, Meriden, CT; brothers-in-law, John (Meg) Sena, Pueblo, CO, Ron Blackham, and Jon E. Knott, Jr.; along with his three grandchildren: Joel, Mitchell, and Onnika; three great-grandchildren: Emery, Jack, and Beckham; and his great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass, Thursday, October 31, 2024, 2:00 p.m., St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Helper where the family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. with a rosary prayer service beginning at 1:30 p.m. Committal Service to follow in the Mt. View Cemetery in Helper.
