On Tuesday, the State Championships for 1A cross-country occurred in Sugar House Park in Salt Lake. With 14 boys’ teams competing and nine girls’ teams competing, the Pinnacle Panthers had 11 runners in the field of 171 racers.

Panguitch earned the top finish in the boys’ division Monticello taking second. Wayne, Tintic, and Bryce Valley rounded out the top five. The Panthers landed in 14th place.

Aleish Hayes was the top finisher for Pinnacle in 47th place. David Yakovich finished in 82nd.  Jackson Shiew (90), Evan Nunez (97), and Dominick Vigil (101)made up the Panther top five. Riley Davis and Brody Howell also competed for the Panthers.

Panguitch also took the top spot in the girls’ division and Monticello took second. Rich, Bryce Valley and Whitehorse made up the rest of the top five. With only four runners competing, the Lady Panthers did not place.

Kaydence Romero finished in 61st place to be the top runner for Pinnacle. Aleece Ricketts (65), Kyleigh Pitts (66), and Luz Ruelas ended in (67)
