The holiday spirit is in the air across the Castle Country Area, and along with the plethora of holiday celebrations planned across both Carbon and Emery County, Price City is proud to announce its presentation of “Christmas à la Vivaldi” in the Price Civic Auditorium on Saturday, Dec. 7. To speak on the concert, Castle Country Radio was joined by Price City’s grooviest councilman Layne Miller who delivered the when, where and how to attend.
Opening our conversation, Miller spoke excitedly about the city’s acquisition of the concert,” This is a real professional program led by a professional and having professional entertainers. And I saw it last year and I was impressed. So when we had the chance to have it moved to Price, we jumped on it.” he added,” If you come and listen, you’re going to be impressed with, you know, this is a truly professional event and we’re just thrilled to death to have it.”
Because of the extremely professional nature of the concert, this is the first ticketed event hosted by the city. This initially posed problems for the council, as they did not have a vendor to sell tickets. This was discussed in a recent city council meeting, where Miller shared that he had found a vendor with Carbon-ticket.com. “Luckily we have a local guy who started with the Nutcracker in a few small events. And he’s just right in what he does. And we’re glad to have locals helping locals.” Miller stated.
Now with the vendor out of the way, Miller spoke on how much tickets are going to cost,” They’re going to be $15 in November, $18 in December, and then $20 at the door. But we’re going to have all that arranged so you can get it done. It’s going to be a really easy process.”
As for what attendees should expect from the performance, Miller shared,” You’re going to expect to see old traditional type music. We’ll also have a sing-along period. The whole thing is just a professional event.”
Closing out our conversation, Miller stated,” Just a reminder that the acoustics in the Civic Auditorium are terrific. It was remodeled a few years ago, so it’s absolutely gorgeous … Bring your sweetie or your kids. Everybody’s going to enjoy it.”
