
The Emery swim team got the 2024-2025 season started over the weekend at the Cedar Invitational. The boys earned an eighth-place finish out of 13 teams that participated and the Lady Spartans finished 10th out of 14 schools.
Pleasant Grove earned the top spot on the boy’s side of the pool, followed by Hurricane in second. Canyon View, Cedar, and Tooele made up the top five.
In the 200-medley relay, the team of Parker Jensen, Adam Olsen, Reve Mason, and Trek Petersen swam to a sixth-place finish. Jensen, Olsen, Petersen, and fellow teammate Jacob Morris earned a seventh-place in the 200-free relay.
Individually Jensen earned a pair of top-ten finishes with a fifth-place in the 100 breaststroke and a sixth in the 200 IM. Olsen also earned top-ten finishes as well with a seventh in the 50 free and a ninth place in the 100 free. Petersen earned a ninth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke for the Spartans.
Pleasant Grove also earned first place in the girl’s division, followed by Canyon View in second. Hurricane landed in third with Davis and Cedar compromising the rest of the top five.
The Lady Spartans earned a pair of eighth-place finishes in two relays. In the 400 free Jessie Childs, Emma Grimm, Annie Johansen, and Illyria Mason competed, and in the 200 medley Childs, Grimm, Mason, and Brooklyn O’Neil were the team for Emery.
O’Neil earned a 10th-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Emery heads back to the pool on Wednesday when they will take on the Union Cougars.
