The high school winter sports season is upon us with swimming getting things going this past weekend. It won’t be long before we hear sneakers on the hardwood for boys’ and girls’ basketball and the mats will appear for both boys’ and girls’ wrestling.
The Dino swim teams traveled to Cedar City this past weekend to take part in the Cedar Invitational. There will only be a couple of opportunities to catch them at home on December 17 they welcome the Emery Spartans and on January 18 they will host the Carbon Invitational. The Region Championship will be the following week in Cedar City and the State Championship will take place on February 7 & 8 at Brigham Young University.
Boy’s basketball travels to Roosevelt to face the Union Cougars on November 20 and then two days later they will have their home opener when South Summit comes to Price. We will get our first look at the RPI on December 16. The first two rounds of the State Playoffs will be held on February 12 and 15 and then the State Championships will take place starting February 24 and run through the 26 at Utah Valley University.
The Lady Dinos will open the 2024-2025 season at home on November 21 against Draper American Preparatory Academy. December 16 is the first look we will get at the RPI rankings for girl’s basketball. February 11 and 14 will be the first and second rounds of the State Playoffs, and the State Championships will take place on the campus of Utah Valley University February 24-26.
Lady Dino wrestling takes to the mats on November 26 on the road at Union High School. They will host Juab on December 4 in their first home match of the season. A week later American Leadership Academy and North Sanpete will come to Price. In January they will host three other events against Richfield (January 15), Emery (January 21), and Duchesne (January 23). The Divisional playoff round will take place on February 1 in Juab and the State Championships will be on February 14 and 15 on the campus of Utah Valley University.
The Dino boy’s wrestling team gets going on December 3 at home against Duchesne. The Dave Smith Memorial will be held in the gym at Carbon on December 13 & 14, and then they go on the road until January went they will host Emery, Richfield, and North Sanpete between January 21 and 23. The Divisional Round will be held on January 31 and February 1 in Juab and the State Championships will be at Utah Valley University on February 12 and 13.
