Kyle Jones joined his parents, daughter and all of his siblings in the afterlife on November 13, 2024 at Pinnacle Care Center in Price, Utah.

Born in Price, Utah, on August 10, 1953, he was the fifth child of Lynn W. Jones and Fern Lenore Hunsaker Jones.

With Audrey Susan Davis he had one child, Melissa Lou Fadra Jones. Later, he married Patty M. Jones and had two boys, Weylin Canyon and Eli Jones.

Kyle had an infectious giggle that melted hearts and won over all who knew him. Coupled with a very friendly “toothless” smile, he was popular, kind, likable and charming. He was a favorite uncle who told stories of Wooly mammoths, mastodons, saber-tooth cats, and other mega-fauna that roamed the earth during the ice ages.

Anthropology, archaeology and anything to do with Native American Indian culture and lore were among his favorite subjects, and he could entertain your imagination for hours with stories about each, and detailed knowledge and experiences he had with them.

Kyle was a handyman and had many different jobs over the years in the construction industry, oil drilling, coal mining, and other ambitious projects. He lived and worked at Hiawatha at one point in time. He also lived in the Pacific Northwest, Wyoming and Alaska. He dreamed about returning to Alaska until the day he died.

About 15 years ago, Kyle suffered a debilitating stroke that left him speechless and partially paralyzed. In spite of that, he continued to live alone and mostly care for himself until recently.

Kyle is survived by his sons, Weylin and Eli Jones of Moab; sister-in-law, Lori Lukich, Price; brother-in-law, Ben Mead, Wellington; a life-long friend/cousin, Darwin Jones, Helper; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his lovely daughter, “Lissa Lou” (Melissa Jones Iwasawa); his parents; and five siblings, Myrna Mead, LaRelle Jones, Ravenna Firth, Randy Jones and Reggie Jones.

Funeral service Tuesday, November 19, 2024, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home, (233 East Main St. Price, Utah), where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment, Castle Dale City Cemetery.
