George S. Laws, age 83, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024 at Castleview Hospital in Price.

George was born on February 22, 1941 in Tacoma, Washington to James and Esther Petrick Laws. George graduated from North Emery High School in Huntington, Utah with the class of 1960. He later attended Carbon College in Price, Utah and received his degree in Welding and Fabrication.

After graduating from Carbon College, George moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where we went to work for several different metal fabricating businesses. Following his endeavors, George was able to purchase his own fabricating business where he was able to create many different saw blades which were even used at the missile base in Salt Lake City, Utah. George was also very handy and was a jack of all trades. There was nothing that he could not fix or create. He was known for always helping lend a hand in the neighborhood whether it was fixing lawnmowers or helping others on their house projects.

George enjoyed many different hobbies in life. He enjoyed his time spent mechanicing on vehicles and woodworking in his shop. George created many beautiful pieces out of wood that will be cherished for the years to come.

Later in life, George was able to rekindle a friendship and a future loving relationship when he met, Janice Price at a 55th high school class reunion. After a short courtship, the two of them had a loving companionship for ten years up until George’s passing.

George is survived by his loving companion, Janice Price; daughter, Diane Gates; siblings, Jeanie Scarlett, Helen Maddux, Kathy Perry, Linda Bell, Jimmy Laws, and Rich Laws; and three grandchildren. George leaves behind several other family members who he was very fond of and had a great love for and they had the same love for him in return.

Preceded in death by his parents, James and Esther Laws; and son, Donny George Laws.

Per George’s wishes; no services will be held at this time. A celebration of George’s life will take place in the spring of 2025 when the weather is warmer.
