Jesse Steven Alcon, Vietnam Veteran, husband, father, grandfather, “G Pa,” great-grandfather and friend, age 70, passed away November 21, 2024 surrounded by his family after a heroic battle with several health complications from Agent Orange/Cancer.

He was born on the Fourth of July 1954, in Price, Utah to Horacio and Sencion Valdez Alcon. Jesse grew up in Blanco, New Mexico where he graduated from Bloomfield High School and shortly thereafter joined the United States Navy where he served on the USS Midway and USS Jason.

Jesse could be found in “G Pa’s Shop” fixing hot rods with his son Carlos, making beautiful jewelry, telling his grandkids stories, working on derby cars or just visiting with his friends and family. Jesse worked many trades throughout the years, he was sailor, a roughneck, welder and a truck driver.  He was also an avid pool and dart player. Jesse touched the lives of many and his memory will live on for generations.

Jesse is survived by the love of his life and wife of 50 years, Josie; his children, Christin Alcon, Carlos (Sonia) Alcon, Nicole (Scott) Sanderson; brother, Fabian Alcon; sisters, Lavette (Juan) Cruz, Rafelita Valencia; grandchildren, Taje, Jorrdon, Chanel, Ellicia, Carlos Jr., Nece, Lilli, Taicy, Brayden and Camron; great-grandson, “Q” Quincee; several nieces, nephews and fur babies.

He was preceded in death by his son, JJ Alcon; parents, Horacio and Sencion Alcon; sister, Anita Cruz; brothers-in-law, Hank and Gib Sandoval; in-laws, Antonio and Pauline Sandoval, Aduro Dulce Manzanares; as well as many other family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Community Nursing Hospice and Pinnacle Nursing Home for their excellent care and generosity to Jesse and his entire family.

Funeral service, Tuesday, November 26, 2024, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where family and friends are always welcome daily and may share memoires of Jesse online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
