On Tuesday night in the Pinnacle gym, a pair of unbeaten teams took the floor when the Lady Panthers welcomed the American Leadership Eagles. The middle quarters were unkind to Pinnacle as they could only score four points in each and fell 47-38 as the Eagles hung the first loss of the season on the Panthers.

Pinnacle had climbed to a perfect 4-0 to start the season while the Eagles sat at 3-0, so sadly Tuesday night something had to give.

In the first quarter, each team played a tight eight minutes as the Lady Panthers earned a one-point lead 10-9. Coming out in the second, American Leadership turned up the offense and their defense as well as holding Pinnacle to just four points carrying a 22-14 point lead into the locker room at halftime.

The third quarter is where the Eagles created a lot of separation between themselves and Pinnacle by putting up 17 and allowing the Lady Panthers just four points taking the 39-18 advantage into the fourth quarter. The tables turned in the fourth, as the Panthers found their offense scoring 20 and holding the Eagles to eight, however, the gap was too much and Pinnacle dropped their first game of the season 47-38.

Heather Kerr led all scorers with 19 for Pinnacle. Jostyn McLean added 11 and Jazmyne Mullis scored three in the loss.

The Lady Panthers will close out the week with a pair of road games. Friday they will take on Water Canyon and then on Saturday will take on Escalante.
