Emery Spartan boys wrestling got back on the mats on Tuesday when they welcomed the Delta Rabbits to the Spartan Center. Delta has always been a tough draw when it comes to wrestling and that proved to be the case as they claimed the win over Emery 52-28.

The Spartans were able to earn five wins out of 14 matches, and with this being the first meet, there is plenty to build on throughout the upcoming season.

Ryder Rollins claimed a victory in the 120-pound weight class earning a win by pin over Kyler Jenkins. At 126 pounds Dixion Peacock took the win over Manuel Lopez by pin.

Benjamin Farley claimed victory over Braxton Kessler in the 150-pound class by a major decision. Devon Byars won by pin over Zaeggar Thacther at 190 pounds,  and in the 285-pound weight class, Joshua Howard defeated Alan Mendez by pin.

Emery is back at it on Wednesday when both the boy’s and girl’s teams will welcome the Richfield Wildcats to the Spartan Center.
