
After dropping their opening match against Delta on Tuesday night, the Spartans had to hurry and turn around to welcome the Richfield Wildcats on Wednesday evening at the Spartan Center. Battling through 13 matches the Spartan boys would earn victories in seven of those matches but fell to the Wildcats 48-39. The Lady Spartan wrestlers competed in three matches falling in all of them as the Lady Wildcats earned the 17-0 win.
Right out of the gate the first two matches of the evening Kash Waite at 106 pounds and Ty Christiansen at 113 won by forfeit. In the 120-pound class, Ryder Rollins earned a victory by pin over Eamon Moriarty by pin. Dixon Peacock won his match over Teagon Ogden by pin in the 126-pound weight class.
Corbin Jensen claimed victory over Cannon Winters by decision at 138 pounds. Up next at 144 pounds, Rayden Ewell took the win over Crew Udy by pin, and Hazen Meccariello defeated Heaton Ledbetter at 175 pounds by pin.
For the Lady Spartans Shalice Fuentes competed in a pair of matches falling in both of them at 135 pounds and 140 pounds. At 145 Annzlie Bell lost by technical fall.
The Emery Spartan boys will travel on Friday and Saturday for the Panguitch Tournament. The Lady Spartans won’t get back to the mat until December 13 & 14 when they will travel to Carbon for the DAve Smith Memorial tournament.
