Coming off a loss on Tuesday night to Grantsville, the Lady Spartans were back on the court Thursday night in the Spartan Center to face San Juan to face the Broncos. The Lady Spartans started fast and when the final buzzer sounded Emery claimed the 63-9 victory.

The Lady Spartans are coming off a loss to the Grantsville Cowboys 63-17 on Tuesday and then had to turn around and face San Juan.

In the first quarter, the basket looked huge to the Lady Spartans, who scored 26 points and defensively allowed just two points from the Broncos, that trend continued into the second as Emery was able to find the basket and score at will putting up another 20 and kept the clamps on the Broncos as the Lady Spartans took a 46-6 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The pace slowed down in the second half, as Emery had the game well in hand. Pouring in another 17 and surrendering just three points to San Juan, Emery earned their third win of the season, 63-9.

Saige Curtis scored 14 for Emery, pulling down five rebounds and collecting three steals. Katelyn Nielson had 12 with nine boards and five steals and Megan Stilson added nine with six assists and six steals in the dominant win, altogether 10 Spartans scored at least two points in the contest.

Starting Friday the Lady Spartans will participate in the two-day Kanab Tournament. In their first game, they will face Draper American Preparatory Academy at 5:30 p.m.
